Year 9 Global Perspectives: Raising Awareness on Medication Misuse
We are proud to spotlight an outstanding student-led initiative from our Year 9 Global Perspectives (GP) class.
We are proud to spotlight an outstanding student-led initiative from our Year 9 Global Perspectives (GP) class.
As part of their coursework, Year 9 GP students delivered a compelling awareness presentation to the MYP IB class on the growing concern around the misuse of Ozempic. Drawing on well researched evidence, the students explored the potential health risks associated with the inappropriate use of the medication and championed the importance of informed, responsible decision making when it comes to personal health.
The session culminated in a thought provoking student crafted slogan that resonated throughout the room:
"Think Before You Inject - Stop Ozempic."
This initiative reflects the core values embedded in our Global Perspectives curriculum which include; critical thinking, research driven advocacy and social responsibility. It is a proud reminder that our students are excelling academically and also engaging meaningfully with real world issues that affect their communities.
Congratulations to our Year 9 Global Perspectives students and the English Department for facilitating such an impactful learning experience.
