We are proud to celebrate one of our own. Ms. Moreen Achan, a parent at Kabojja International School, has been featured in the Weekend Monitor (7–8 November 2026) in the "At Home Abroad" series under the headline "Achan stands tall in UK tech industry."
Born in Gulu, northern Uganda, Moreen today serves as a Senior Project Manager at Akkodis in the United Kingdom, leading multidisciplinary teams that deliver complex technology projects worth millions of pounds. Her path took her from a coveted place on the graduate programme at Hewlett Packard to roles as a solutions architect and, later, a project leader. Along the way she navigated the demands of a highly competitive industry, including motherhood, with resilience and determination.
Her story reminds us that excellence is built on preparation, perseverance, and the courage to keep going when the path is not easy. Her advice to young people is simple and powerful: invest in your skills, never stop learning, and do not doubt yourself, because you have earned your place.
Above all, Moreen's commitment to mentoring and empowering young Ugandans, particularly girls, to pursue careers in technology resonates deeply with the values we nurture at KIS. We want every learner to know that technology is much bigger than coding, and that there is space for everyone.
Congratulations, Moreen, on this well-deserved recognition. You make the KIS family proud.
