On Saturday, 18th May 2024, Kabojja International School proudly marked its Annual Charity Day with a heartfelt donation to the Oncology Department at St. Francis Hospital Nsambya. This year’s initiative was held in loving memory of our late student, Maliy Bapiny, who bravely battled liver cancer.
The charity week, which ran from 26th February to 1st March 2024, brought together students, staff, and the entire KIS community in a collective effort to raise funds and awareness for cancer care. Through their dedication and teamwork, learners successfully raised UGX 5,240,000, which was later donated to support the hospital’s growing oncology services.
The week’s theme, “Harambe” a Swahili word meaning “all pull together”, captured the spirit of unity and compassion that defined the event. Activities such as bake sales, casual dress days, charity basketball games, car washes, music performances, and fun competitions kept the school buzzing with energy and purpose.
At Kabojja International School, Charity Week goes beyond fundraising; it's a lesson in empathy, leadership, and community responsibility. Learners are encouraged to take part in initiatives that inspire them to become active changemakers in society.
A special appreciation goes to the KIS Interact Club and its dedicated patron, Mr. Ronald Musasiizi, for their outstanding leadership and commitment to making this year’s Charity Day a success.
Through acts of kindness like this, Kabojja continues to nurture not only bright minds but also compassionate hearts teaching learners that giving back is one of life’s greatest callings.
