Health Advisory: Staying Vigilant Against Ebola
The Ministry of Health has confirmed cases of Ebola in Uganda, and while there is no cause for panic, there is every reason for vigilance, awareness, and collective responsibility.
The Ministry of Health has confirmed cases of Ebola in Uganda, and while there is no cause for panic, there is every reason for vigilance, awareness, and collective responsibility.
At Kabojja International School, the health, safety, and wellbeing of our learners, staff, parents, and visitors remain our highest priority. In line with the Ministry of Health guidelines, we have strengthened and continue to enforce our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across both our Junior and High School campuses.
Our preventive measures include:
Regular handwashing and use of hand sanitizers
Enhanced health monitoring and reporting procedures
Increased awareness and health education among learners and staff
Encouraging the avoidance of unnecessary physical contact, including handshakes
Maintaining high standards of hygiene and sanitation across the school environment
Prompt referral and reporting of any suspected cases in accordance with Ministry of Health protocols
We also encourage our wider community to remain alert and watch for common signs and symptoms of Ebola, including fever, severe headache, vomiting, diarrhoea, unexplained bleeding, rash, red eyes, and general weakness.
Prevention remains our strongest defence. We urge everyone to:
Wash hands regularly with soap and clean water
Use alcohol-based hand sanitizers where available
Avoid contact with individuals displaying symptoms of illness
Avoid contact with wild animals and bush meat
Seek immediate medical attention if symptoms are observed
As a school community, we all have a role to play in safeguarding one another.
Through awareness, responsible action, and adherence to recommended health measures, we can help protect our families, our school, and our nation.
Let us remain informed, vigilant, and committed to keeping our community safe.
